It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batsmen to hold a record if never given the chance.

In the end, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy getting a chance to create her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have come from 10 tries across formats.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was far harder to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it has been a challenging time because it appeared I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive nature kick in and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her key asset - and a priceless quality in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from there the right-hander was underway.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was removed Australia required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we are confident we can achieve it."

These statements will be the last Australia's opponents at this tournament should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing through the pain.
